Burge Family 2008 Rosé Aug 08

The wines is sealed under screwcap and will be released in a few months. When this arrived in the box with the other three reds, I thought Rick had taken leave of his senses; I was not looking forward to trying it, and almost didn't. The bouquet shows bright floral aromatics. The wine has a lovely flavour profile; it tastes like a real wine; but it is light and crisp. It's fresh on the palate with blackberry, chocolate, and aniseed flavours that finish long, crisp, and dry with excellent intensity and persistence. A very quaffable wine and perfect for a hot summer's alfresco lunch. Rated as Recommended with **** for value I would actually enjoyed drinking this wine, and that's a high recommendation coming from me for a Rosé. Bloody hell. I don't believe it. I actually liked it, although I don't think I would ever admit it. Possibly the reason is that is made from Shiraz grapes and was fermented till it was almost bone dry.
